Mem

My mom visited me in Haarlem this weekend and we had a lovely time. Friday evening when I picked her up from the trainstation it was bucketing down, but on the way back it eased a bit. On Saturday it turned even better weatherwise, but also activity wise.
We started with a lovely half hour relaxing back massage and headed toward the Corrie ten Boom house for a tour. Afterwards we were really craving some coffee, so we went to the DE shop and enjoyed an enormous cup of cappuccino with a chocolate muffin. Ofcourse we had to check out the store and it's goodies, but we were good and bought nothing. It was time to enjoy some sun while strolling around in the city centre. We decided to head into the historical museum of Haarlem and were greeted by some very enthousiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. There was a nice exposition on from a Dutch docter/painter/world traveller and the permanent collection is always nice. Afterwards we bought some nice food to bring back home and enjoyed watching Becoming Jane, which is obviously a highlight in my dvd collection. This morning we headed towards Landgoed Elswout, which is a wonderfull place tostroll around and enjoy a cup of coffee. All the pictures in this post are made on Landgoed Elswout. We even saw Bambi and her gang ;-) The weather was incredible so we enjoyed every minute of it and had a lovely bikeride there and back (thanks to Aira who's bike I could lend). After a lovely big bowl of soup I brought my mom back to the central station and she should be home soon now. Time to prepare for my last week at work!
