Hoogerheide and Antwerp

This weekend I went to Hoogerheidewith a group of friends from highschool. First of all Rina and Judith and the rest of the group consists of  Annemarie, Corienand Jojanneke. We had rented a nice house in one of those family parks in Hoogerheide (Brabant) and went to Antwerp on Saturday for a Dim Sum cookingclass in Chinatown

We had booked with Food for Foodies and had a walk around Chinatown where our instructor showed us what to use, what not to buy and in a lot of cases what it was...or that you can actually buy it in Belgium (it is forbidden to sell frog legs in NL). Ofcourse some cooking was required and even though it was all seafood I tried 2 things (and did not spit it out, so very good food). We ended with a lovely rice dessert of which I ate two portions :-) We had an extreme lack of coffee by the end of the workshop (which was almost 6 hours) and decided to chill out in Antwerp and get some much needed cafeine into our body. After a nice dinner in the Kathedraalcafé we headed back to Hoogerheide for a bit of chilling. Today we went to Landgoed Mattemburgh for a walk and saw some nice funghi and black swans It was still early, so we visited the farmers day in Woensdrecht. Quite quant, but with a lovely bistro where we had pancakes. Some more tea, chocolate and marzipan at the holiday house and time to head home!
Last weekend was spent in Groningen where I was picked up at the central station by Karlijn and after a nice lunch at her home we went to the hairdressers who cut my hear nice and short. Time to go to the terrace and meet up with Jorryt, Lilian, their little baby boy Thomas and Marieke. Lots of catching up to do and lots of enjoying the sun! A lovely evening with Marieke chilling in front of the tv and a quick coffee and some shopping at Ikea on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon was spent on the same terrace, this time with Stephan and his girlfriend Christina. Another lovely afternoon and nice weekend Groningen. Not long until I will call that home again!!!
