Omori to New Plymouth
So the first day we went jetskiing and for a walk in the afternoon. The day after that was spent in Tongariro National Park where we drove to the 2 different skifields (amazing views from the top), did a walk to a waterfall, had ok coffee in a bar that smelled like vomit, walked around the amazing Tongariro Chateau, explored the town where Chris grew up (Raetihi) and headed back to Omori for a relaxing evening. We basically drove from Omori to Turangi, into the NP, Ohukane, Raetihi and Omori again (if you want to explore it on google maps). On Thursday we headed towards Taupo, where we walked along Huka Falls, did the 1 hour walk around the Craters of the Moon (awesome, where steam is coming from the ground, it really makes you aware of the fact that the whole country is one big vulcanic slab), had lunch at the shore of Lake Taupo and went to the hotwater springs in the evening where you can book a private bath for 20 minutes. We also drove to a few lookouts to enjoy the stars and ended up helping a couple of Ozzies stranded with a broken car (well just calling the roadside assistence people to pick them up). Friday we cleaned up the house and drove to New Plymouth. Don't ever order coffee in the McDonalds drive through, it was the most discusting coffee I've ever had. We drove around a few sites in town and Chris showed me where he is building his house, where his brother and soon to be sister in law live and where his dads house is (where he is living temporarily until his house is finished). He dropped me off at the hostel, which is very nice. I just found a job at the New World supermarket (trying to make it work more efficiently, so improving procedures, admin stuff etc) and will stay in the Seaspray House (hostel) for a while. More about that later!

You said We, who is We?
We is Chris and me, Chris being the same Kiwi I met in Hong Kong about 3,5 years ago on my previous backpack year.
