Praha

Hello everybody, by the time you'll read this it is probably 2009 so happy New Year! Hope you're having a good one. Mine is ending pretty good so far. I left for Groningen on Saturday afternoon, met up with Monique at the trainstation and headed towards Francisco's place where almost the whole Prague Party was setting up (Kees Jan, Moniques boyfriend was flying into Prague the next day), ready for a nice relaxing evening with Francisco preparing the main course and Ronald the desert. Both were absolutely lovely. So were the oliebollen we bought along the way. No idea what you call them in English, they are a Dutch traditional food, usually eaten around New Years Eve.
We had a nice night of catching up and left at 8 the next morning fully packed. The drive went smoothly and only 7 hours and 15 minutes later (including all breaks and yes it is a 800 km drive....) we arrived at our apartment in Prague. The car was parked, we checked in and the apartment is fine. 2 rooms, a little kitchenette, tv etc. A full report will follow later (am at the hotelreception and its only 30 min free internet a day) but in short we've been to: old town centre, Prague Castle, Jewish Quarter, Vysehrad, exhibition of Dali, loads of pubs and today Terezin. That was very impressive and depressing. What people do to eachother, unbelievable... Prague is beautiful, lovely buildings, nice people, good food etc. More will follow soonish!
